The Minister of State for Local Government, Ervin Demo, participated in the presentation of the “EU4Municipalities II” programme in Durrës, together with Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Ambassador of the European Union to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, the Deputy Ambassador of Germany, Thilo Schroeter, international partners, and representatives of local government. The strategic programme, worth 11 million euros and supported by the European Union, aims to strengthen local government and accelerate Albania’s European integration process through concrete support for municipalities across the country. “EU4Municipalities II” will contribute to improving infrastructure and public services, modernising local governance, and increasing the capacities of municipalities to absorb and manage European Union funds. During the event, the importance of cooperation between the government, local authorities, and European partners was highlighted in advancing reforms and bringing European standards closer to every municipality in the country, with the goal of ensuring sustainable development and improving citizens’ quality of life.
