On October 13, 2026, a meeting was held for the subgroup of the Inter-institutional Working Group for European Integration (GNPIE) concerning Chapter 22, “Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments.” The subgroup consists of representatives from the institutions responsible for fulfilling the Closing Benchmarks for this chapter: the Ministry of the Interior / Agency for the Support of Local Self-Government, the Ministry of Finance, the State Agency for Strategic Programming and Aid Coordination (SASPAC), and the Minister of State for Public Administration (MAPA).

The meeting was opened by the Director General of the Agency for the Support of Local Self-Government, who also serves as the Head of the Technical Secretariat for Chapter 22, Ms. Anxhela Paparizo welcomed the participants and proceeded to introduce them—both those present in person and those connected via the online platform. She emphasized the importance of inter-institutional cooperation and coordination, aiming for the timely and successful fulfillment of respective obligations, as well as advancing the process toward achieving European integration objectives. During her remarks, Ms.

Paparizo expressed her readiness, as well as that of the AMVV staff, to provide the necessary support to the participating institutions—including assistance and supplementary information—regarding the recommendations, tasks, and commitments stemming from Chapter 22.

During the meeting, the work plan for Chapter 22 was discussed, focusing on coordinating the commitments and obligations of the institutions responsible for achieving the objectives set out for this chapter.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the work plan was distributed to representatives of all participating institutions, enabling them to review its content and continue inter-institutional cooperation in carrying out their respective tasks.
