As part of efforts to improve public services and advance reforms in local governance, the Minister of State for Local Government, Ervin Demo, participated in the Working Group meeting on the Reengineering and Digitalization of Local Government Services, where concrete steps were discussed to transform how municipalities deliver services to citizens. During the meeting, with the participation of representatives from the World Bank, including Massimiliano Paolucci and Simon Carl O’Meally, as well as the Director General of AKSHI, Igli Tafa, the importance of digitalization was emphasized as a key reform to increase efficiency, reduce administrative costs, and improve citizens’ access to services. In this context, the municipalities of Tirana, Korça, and Përmet will be part of the initial phase of implementation, contributing to the development of a sustainable and scalable model for all municipalities across the country. This pilot phase aims to establish unified practices and new standards in the delivery of local services. With the support of the World Bank and in close cooperation with AKSHI and local government units, this process is expected to contribute to building a simpler, more transparent, and higher-quality service system for citizens, in support of sustainable local development. .
