The Minister of State for Local Government, Mr. Ervin Demo, participated in the 9th Albania–European Union Intergovernmental Conference, held in Brussels, marking another significant milestone in Albania’s European integration process. During the conference, the closure of negotiations on three additional chapters of the European Union acquis was formally concluded: Chapter 25 – Science and Research, Chapter 26 – Education and Culture, and Chapter 31 – Foreign, Security and Defence Policy. This achievement represents an important step in Albania’s path towards European Union membership and demonstrates the progress made through the reforms implemented by Albanian institutions. On this occasion, Minister Ervin Demo commended the commitment of all institutions involved in fulfilling the obligations of the accession process, emphasizing that the closure of each chapter is the result of coordinated efforts and sustained dedication to aligning Albania’s legislation and standards with those of the European Union. The negotiation process continues with the clear objective of closing all negotiating chapters by 2027, reflecting the pace of reforms, effective interinstitutional cooperation, and the confidence of Albania’s European partners in the country’s progress towards full European Union membership.
