The Minister of State for Local Government, Mr. Ervin Demo, took part in the meeting focused on the modernization of electronic communications infrastructure across municipalities and on enhancing preparedness for the effective absorption of European Union funds. During the discussions, Mr. Demo emphasized the importance of close coordination among central government institutions, municipalities, and electronic communications operators to improve standards across local territories and deliver higher-quality services to citizens. Particular attention was given to the organization of overhead cables and improvised structures, as well as to advancing the transition toward underground infrastructure. The Minister underlined that municipalities play a key role in implementing these processes, which contribute not only to improving the urban landscape but also to creating better conditions for development and maximizing access to European funding opportunities. Higher standards, stronger cooperation, and more orderly cities are part of the vision for a stronger local government that is closer to citizens, supporting Albania’s path toward European Union membership.
