Chapter 22 “Regional Policies of the EU” aims to develop policies that reduce socio-economic disparities between Member States and between regions within the same country, as well as to ensure socio-economic integration and cohesion. Within this chapter “Coordination of Structural Instruments” requires the establishment of institutional and administrative structures, as well as the implementation of general and specific regulations relating to each Structural Fund and the Cohesion Fund, which constitute the EU financial instruments for achieving the objectives set out in the policies in question.
