As part of the project “Enhancing Public Sector Resilience Against Corruption in Albania,” a series of regional workshops were held in Shkodër, Vlorë, Korçë, and Tiranë with the participation of representatives from local government units. The activities were organized in cooperation with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Council of Europe, focusing on strengthening capacities for corruption prevention and reinforcing integrity mechanisms. The workshops addressed the role and functioning of GRECO and its sixth evaluation round, best European practices in transparency, integrity, and whistleblower protection, recent legislative developments in Albania regarding conflict of interest and whistleblowing, as well as challenges in implementation and the need for inter-institutional coordination. Emphasis was placed on the importance of transparency, accountability, and effective protection of whistleblowers, as well as the establishment of functional integrity structures at the local level. In conclusion, the workshops served as a platform for exchanging experiences and discussing concrete challenges at the local level, fostering the improvement of integrity practices and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation .
