On October 6, 2025, at the “Xheko Imperial” Hotel in Tirana, the first meeting of the Application Evaluation Commission (AEC) for the Municipal Performance-Based Grant (GBP), organized by the Technical Secretariat of the Agency for the Support of Local Self-Governance (ASLSG). The meeting marked the official launch of the indicator evaluation process for the Performance-Based Grant. The meeting opened with a welcoming speech by the Acting Director General of the Agency for the Support of Local Self-Governance, Mr. Stiljan Llavdaniti, who emphasized the importance of conducting a transparent, professional, and inclusive process in evaluating GBP indicators for local government units. During the meeting, a report on the preliminary verification of applications submitted by municipalities was presented, and the evaluation methodology was discussed based on the indicators defined in the relevant guidelines. These indicators cover areas such as education, social services, integrity, gender equality, financial management, waste management, and forest management. In conclusion, the Chair of the AEC presented the meeting’s findings and proposed holding a second meeting to finalize the evaluations, in accordance with the established timeline. Subsequently, the Technical Secretariat will publish on the official website the respective decisions of the Application Evaluation Commission, as well as the preliminary results of the municipalities qualifying under the indicators.
