On June 17, 2025, the meeting of the Working Group for the approval of the indicators of the Performance Measurement System of local self-government units for 2024 was held at the Prime Minister’s Office. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of State for Local Government, Mr. Arbjan Mazniku, who emphasized the importance of this process for strengthening local government. He underlined that this exercise has proven useful and this year it is intended to be further improved, reflecting the proposed changes.

During the meeting, the Commanding General Director of the AMVV, Mr. Stiljan Llavdaniti, presented the list of 52 proposed indicators, of which 31 remain unchanged and 21 are new indicators, divided according to the fields: education, agriculture, forests and pastures, fire protection, waste management, social protection, human resources, good governance, European integration, gender equality and finance.

Participants discussed extensively the improvement of indicators, clarification of formulations and their adaptation to the real capacities of municipalities, with the aim of creating a measurement system that is functional and comparable over time.

In conclusion, the working group members agreed that the indicators should be reviewed again in detail to prepare the final list to be used in the Performance Management System (PMS).
