At the conference for the Local Government Academy, the Minister of State for Local Government, Mr. Ervin Demo, and the President of the National Association of Municipalities of Albania, Ms. Emiriana Sako, signed the agreement for the establishment of the Local Government Academy.

This important step was taken in the presence of the mayors of municipalities and heads of regions of Albania, as well as with the support of international partners such as the Swiss, Swedish and Dutch Embassies, reflecting a joint commitment to strengthening local government and approximation with European standards.

The Local Government Academy will serve as a national training and professional development platform for local self-government units, to face challenges and sustainable development, in the service of citizens and the European Integration process.
