On June 30, 2025, the Agency for Local Self-Government Support participated in the “National Dialogue” activity, as part of the “Participate, Speak, Decide!” initiative, aimed at increasing women’s participation in participatory budgeting processes in 15 municipalities in the country during the period 2022–2025.

The activity was organized by the Center for Community Development “Today for the Future”, with the support of UN Women Albania, as part of the United Nations “No One Left Behind” (LNB) Program, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The dialogue focused on the presentation of five monitoring reports conducted by civil society organizations, which highlighted the challenges and shortcomings in the provision of comprehensive social services for women and girls, especially those of marginalized groups.

During the event, partner organizations presented findings from the municipalities of Maliq, Konispol, Roskovec, Vora and Divjaka, highlighting concrete cases of under-budgeting of services such as social protection, care for women with disabilities, the elderly, victims of violence and Roma and Egyptian communities. The reports highlighted the need for increased transparency in the local budgeting process, the inclusion of a gender perspective in all stages of planning and strengthening cooperation between municipalities and civil society. In the second part of the dialogue, AMVV, and representatives of the participating municipalities reflected on the recommendations and shared concrete efforts to improve the situation at the local level.

The event concluded with open discussions and exchange of recommendations between central institutions, local authorities and civil society actors. The dialogue served as an important step to strengthen the oversight role of the PRISMA network and to promote institutional accountability towards more equitable and inclusive public services.
