Tirana became the center of discussions on innovation, digitalization and open government, from March 10 to 13, 2025, within the framework of the French-Albanian Green AI Week. This event, part of the French-Albanian Digital Roadmap project, brought together high-ranking Albanian and French officials.

At the opening of the event, the French Embassy hosted a meeting between key public and private stakeholders, highlighting the important sector in the field of technology and innovation.

On the day of the meeting, the Prime Minister brought Albania to a position as a regional leader in its simultaneously open and digitally transformed government. Representatives of Albanian and French history shared their vision of the importance of Open Data in terms of transparency, improving public services and promoting services.

Following the event, technical discussions focused on the role of artificial intelligence, strategies for Open Data and digital protection. The ways in which artificial intelligence can be used to improve the government process and efficiency in the private sector were examined.

The Agency for Local Self-Government Support works closely with the Ministry of State for Local Government to strengthen the administration for its vendors and to make a service for public policies. Ms. Olta Caca delivered her speech emphasizing that the AMVV plays its role in a country that is responsible for transparency, accountability of local government power including several key aspects, such as techniques and training of local administration, monitoring and performance work of local government. An example of which is the concrete project of Open dat’Alb with the French company Spalliani, an initiative to create a platform with the use of open data and data analysis. This project aims to use Big Data and data analysis to make decision-making and transparency in the country, creating opportunities for public visibility and more effective policies.

In the local area, important initiatives of the same level will be undertaken such as:

  • Collaboration with the University of Tirana for studies on economic specialists,
  • Creation of data offices in collaboration with INSTAT
  • Partnership with Harvard University for the analysis of territorial policies.

The days of events are focused on meetings of institutions and meetings of companies of Albania and France, thus creating new technologies in the field of technology and digitalization.

The French-Albanian Green AI Week marked a targeted step towards an open, transparent and innovative digital economy, positioning the retailer as an important regional center.
