The Minister of State for Local Government, Mr. Ervin Demo, participated in the meeting of the Investment Council, chaired by the Minister of Economy and Innovation, Ms. Delina Ibrahimaj, where the government’s new project for the digitalization of services for all municipalities in the country was presented.

During the meeting, a transformative project was presented, which aimed to enable:

• Easily accessible services for every citizen and business;
• Innovative, simpler and lower-cost procedures;
• Increased quality and speed of local service provision;
• Maximum data protection, in accordance with the most advanced security standards.

It was assessed that the digitalization of local government constituted an essential step towards the modernization of public administration, increasing transparency and strengthening citizens’ trust in institutions. This project was considered an important step, more efficient and fully oriented towards citizens and businesses.
