In the municipality of Elbasan, an informational event was held dedicated to supporting farmers, as part of the government’s initiative to strengthen agriculture and agritourism. This meeting, organized with the support of the Minister of State for Local Government and local institutions, aimed to present the new investment scheme, which seeks to facilitate farmers’ access to financing and promote the development of agricultural production.

During the meeting, participants were introduced to the concrete benefits offered by this scheme, including:
• 50% grant for investments in agriculture and agritourism;
• Soft loans with an interest rate of only 2%;
• Sovereign guarantees covering up to 70% of collateral value.

This economic support program for farmers opens real opportunities for the development of the agricultural sector and the modernization of work practices, through projects ranging from greenhouse construction, new plantings, installation of modern irrigation systems, to investments in agritourism.

The Minister of State for Local Government emphasized the importance of this initiative as a concrete step toward the economic empowerment of rural communities, highlighting the close cooperation between central and local government for the sustainable development of agriculture.

Experts present shared detailed information on the application procedures at the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (AZHBR), the required documentation, and the criteria farmers must meet to benefit from this opportunity.

The meeting was conceived as a practical step to bring farmers closer to the support program, guiding them toward investments that increase production, quality, and profit, with an application deadline of September 30, 2025.

This activity is an example of cooperation between the Ministry of Local Government, local institutions, and the farming community, aimed at sustainable development and enhancing the competitiveness of agriculture in the Elbasan region.
