On June 26, 2025, the Agency for Support to Local Self-Government, in cooperation with the EU4 Good Governance project, held in Shkodër the consultation meeting for the Roadmap for Public Participation in Local Government in Albania. This roadmap aims to provide municipalities with a practical and comprehensive instrument for the implementation of the law on public consultation and information, guiding them towards best practices and empowering them in fulfilling their role as transparent, accountable institutions and representatives of the interests of the communities they serve.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the municipalities of Bulqizë, Klos, Pukë, Dibër, Malësi e Madhe, Has, Mirditë, Mat, Vau i Dejës, Kurbin, Lezhë, Shkodër and Kukës. Also present at the meeting was Ms. Marie Augouy, representative of the European Union Delegation to Albania, who in her speech emphasized the importance of public consultation as an essential component of transparency, accountability and civic participation, fundamental pillars of the European Union, which take on particular importance in the context of Albania’s European integration process.
